Juicy Couture started by Pamela Skaist-Levy and Gela Nash-Taylor in Los Angeles, California in 1987, as designing and selling more fashionable tracksuits with very little start-up money.
In 2001,
Juicy Couture sent one velour tracksuit to Madonna and she wore it in public, which became the hit among fashion industry. The tracksuit soon became the favorite for Hollywood and America. Later in 2003, the company was acquired by Liz Claiborne fashion corporation, Skaist-Levy and Nash-Taylor then got capital to expand their Juicy Couture kingdom with apparels, handbags, shoes, intimates,
women swimwear, couture couture fragrance, accessories, sunglasses and babywear.
Juicy Couture's design has been communicating good clean fun, like the many slogans they have used - "Smells Like Couture", "Be Juicy", "Cupid Couture", "Viva la Juicy", "Juicy is Forever", "Her Royal Juicyness", "Wake Up And Smell the Couture", "Go Couture Yourself","Kiss My Couture", "I aloof appetite Couture", and "Crimes of Couture", etc. Although some of the interpretations got controversial, which didn't stop the brand being popular.
As we can easily see, all of Juicy Couture productions are with the company signature logo on - two highland terriers holding a shield bearing three hearts and Love G&P (stand for Gela and Pamela). And a crown lies on top, while a Juicy Couture banner flutters above the slogan, "Born in the Glamorous USA." Juicy Couture designers use extremely sharp and bright colors, interesting and fun styles for all the items. Brand image is very distinctive, you can tell what is Juicy Couture's product straight away.
